Why should I take out Upgraded Warranty cover?
Modern cars are more reliable than ever, but breakdowns are impossible to predict and even expensive cars can have bad days – and bad days can be expensive. Our CarSupermarket.com Upgraded Mechanical Warranty can help take the hassle and expense away so there’s no need to worry about unexpected breakdowns. With 24 and 36 month options our warranty offers peace of mind, plus many benefits that other agreements don’t, such as zero excess and no limit on the number of claims you can make.
Do you offer any warranty cover as standard?
Every vehicle includes a 12-month warranty as standard free of charge (T&Cs apply). This means that you can drive away with complete peace of mind that you are covered from the moment you collect your vehicle or have it delivered. It is important to note that this package excludes roadside cover.
Saving you from unexpected costs
As vehicles age and build up more miles on the clock, the chance of something going wrong increases. If the worst happens and your vehicle breaks down, you could potentially face some unexpected costs.
Here are some examples of costs for a 5-year old BMW 1 Series:
• £1,749 to replace the turbo
• £599 for the clutch
• £1,099 for the flywheel
• £1,799 for the ECU
With our extended warranty, you simply make a claim and then your warranty plan covers all the parts and labour costs at our branches or any VAT-registered garage across the UK. Giving you peace of mind and helping you get back on the road as quickly as possible.
Keep your vehicle running smoothly with routine servicing
We recommend getting your vehicle serviced every year or every 12,000 miles with our network of dedicated centres. Our Service/MOT plans are available when you purchase your vehicle for a fixed price of £689, these include 3 services to manufacturer guidelines within your manufacturer’s warranty period and 3 MOT tests – keeping your vehicle running smoothly and enabling you to enjoy worry-free motoring.
What components are covered?
Breakdowns can happen when you least expect them and the cost of replacing many modern components can be daunting. During our warranty period, all mechanical and electrical components are covered against mechanical breakdown, including failure due to wear and tear, provided that the terms and conditions are fully complied with. Please see the warranty schedule for full details of the conditions and exclusions.

Frequently asked questions about our Upgraded Mechanical Warranty
If we haven't answered your questions already and these FAQs don't help, then don't hesitate to call us!
Is it worth taking out upgraded warranty cover?
While modern cars are more reliable than ever, breakdowns can still happen and the cost of replacing many modern components can be surprisingly high. After your manufacturer’s warranty has ended, it is advised to have upgraded warranty cover in place as your vehicle continues to age. If the worst happens, our upgraded warranty cover could save you from paying out hundreds & hundreds or potentially thousands of pounds for unexpected repairs.
How can I take out this upgraded warranty cover?
You can take out upgraded warranty cover when you purchase a vehicle with us, either online or at one of our dealerships. Your CarSupermarket.com customer advisor will be able to answer any questions you might have.
What warranty periods are available?
In most cases your car will be covered for a period of 12 months for FREE by the CarSupermarket.com Standard Warranty (subject to terms).
You can extend your warranty cover with us by Upgrading your cover for 24 or 36 months. Upgraded cover means added benefits to your Standard cover as well as extending the lifetime of your warranty.
Can I cancel my Upgraded warranty cover?
If you change your mind, you have the option to cancel your policy during a 14-day cooling-off period after it has been issued. You will need to contact your CarSupermarket.com customer advisor to get this cancelled. If your vehicle is sold privately, your warranty can also be transferred for a £25 fee.
Are any parts not covered under the warranty?
All of your vehicle’s mechanical and electrical components are covered against mechanical breakdown, including failure due to wear and tear, provided that the terms and conditions are fully complied with. However, the Standard and Upgraded warranties do not cover normal wear and tear to anything that you should replace as part of your vehicle’s regular ongoing maintenance, such as tyres and consumables like filters or oil – this is why a good service plan is also a great option when buying from CarSupermarket.com. It also does not cover any repairs or replacements that may be needed if you have failed to service your vehicle in line with its manufacturer’s recommendations. Please see the warranty schedule for full details of the conditions and exclusions.
How can I make a claim?
Your CarSupermarket.com customer advisor will be available to help if you would like to make a claim or have any questions about this process, helping get your vehicle back on the road as quickly as possible.
To make a claim for a repair with a CarSupermarket.com dealership: simply take your vehicle to any of our branches, preferably the one you bought it through, or contact the branch that supplied you if this is more convenient. Our CarSupermarket.com dealership will then contact the claims administrator to get an authority number. To do this, they will need full details of your vehicle, including its mileage and service history.
To make a claim for a repair that is not carried out at a CarSupermarket.com dealership: take your vehicle to another repairer and ask them to contact our Claims Helpline on 01926 622 673. The claims administrator will require the following information, so please ensure you have it available: your CarSupermarket.com product number (found on your product schedule), your name, your vehicle registration number, the date and mileage when the component(s) failed, a detailed estimate of the repair costs and your service history.
The claims administrator may authorise repairs immediately, call for other estimates, nominate another repairer and/or appoint an independent assessor to inspect your vehicle.
If your claims administrator provides authorisation for the repairs to be carried out, please ensure that your approved repairer does the following: makes a note of the authority number issued by the administrator, carries out the repairs and sends the invoice, authority number and service receipts (if requested) to Premia Solutions Limited c/o Premia Solutions Warranty Limited, The Gatehouse, Gatehouse Way, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire HP19 8DB.
You may be asked to settle the invoice directly with your approved repairer and then claim the costs back from us. In this case, simply write to the administrator and provide the following documentation: fully itemised invoice and evidence of your vehicle’s service history, including invoices, from the start date of your CarSupermarket.com warranty cover.
As we said earlier, if you have any questions about this process, please get in touch with your CarSupermarket.com customer advisor.
Where will my car be fixed?
We would always prefer to resolve any issues at one of our own branches. However, we understand that this may not always be convenient when you have chosen to use our home delivery service or you do not live near one of our dedicated centres. In this case, you can simply take your vehicle to any VAT-registered garage anywhere in the UK. Please contact your CarSupermarket.com customer advisor if you have any questions.
